The story
Penelope Bennett has spent every summer of her life in Argentmere. This year her grandparents are gone, her mother stayed behind, and the founding families’ elusive facade is starting to crack. Pip is proud and Pip is curious, when she begins to uncover the deception that has built the foundation of Argentmere, will she be enough to save it, or will everything around her come falling down? The Summer Solstice is coming, and the town has been counting on nobody asking.
The place
A square, a store, a bakery, an old keep, and a fishing jetty small enough to walk in a minute. The farms fill the valley behind it and the mountains encase the furthest western point that any person dares travel; and the old train that is the living and breathing connection of it all. Above the village the road runs north under old oaks so thick you cannot see the ground on either side of it, which is convenient for the people living behind them and convenient, later, for four unlikely friends on a mission to uncover it all.
